Intro:
Visual exploration is through art materials full of textures, sounds, surfaces, details. The marks in the paintings are deliberate, yet intuitive. The marks occur in many variations on many surfaces, preferring canvas, paper and wood panel.
I respond visually in my own cryptic manner. Nature influences marking processes in parts of images. An urban wall with time exposed in multiple layers carries fragments of experience. The weather or human made effects intertwine on surfaces creating visual tension. Many paper studies lead up to larger paintings, indirectly but not as a copy.
The work is not a literal or a recognizable image, but one that can lead to an imaginative response.
